亞瑟王的第一個、同時也是最後一位騎士，貝迪威爾。

忠心耿耿的他，將重傷的王帶離卡姆蘭山丘後，被賦予了將Excalibur歸還給湖中仙女的任務。

「聽好了，穿過這森林、穿過那血淋淋的山丘，繼續走會看到湖，將我的劍丟入其中，並回來告訴我你看到了什麼。」

這是王的最後一個命令。

他明白歸還聖劍所代表的意義，也是他最不想面對的現實，於是他連續欺騙了王兩次，但是都被識破。

最後，他終於狠下心，在第三次，將劍丟棄。

「湖中出現了女人的手接住了劍，並揮劃了三圈之後，消失在湖面上。劍已回到了湖中仙女的手中，我的王。」

「嗯，抬起胸膛來吧，你捍衛了王的任務。」

────貝迪威爾，這次一睡，稍微......會久一點。

他目送王被帶上前往阿瓦隆的船上，並消失在濃霧之中。

從一開始，到王離去，貝迪威爾見證了一切。

世間相信過去(Once)的亞瑟王，將會在未來(Future)不列顛再次陷入混亂之時，再次持著聖劍拯救國家。

永恆之王(The Once and Future King)的傳說如此永遠流傳後世。

而最後的騎士貝迪威爾，傳說他進了一間不起眼的修道院，在那兒渡過餘生。
